Executive Director, National Operations and Programs, Parks Canada
Julie is the Executive Director of National Operations and Programs at Parks Canada, where she provides strategic leadership across a broad portfolio, including emergency management, claims and litigation, occupational health and safety, business planning, and leadership development for operational executives. With over 25 years in the public sector, including 12 years in executive leadership roles, Julie brings extensive experience in strategic planning, project management, finance, emergency management, conservation, tourism development, operations, and Indigenous relations.
Julie serves as the executive champion for women employees at Parks Canada, advocating for equity and supporting professional development opportunities for women in leadership roles. She has also served on numerous boards and committees, including the Canadian Interagency Forest Fire Centre, the Gully Marine Protected Area Advisory Committee, and the Halifax Integrated Tourism Master Plan Advisory Board. Additionally, Julie has also contributed her governance and strategic expertise to a number of grassroots non-profit organizations.
Julie lives in Halifax with her husband and two teenage children, where she enjoys the outdoors and the natural beauty of Nova Scotia at every opportunity.
