Senior Legal Counsel & Director of Contracts Management, The Bank of Nova Scotia

Catherine Forbes is a senior lawyer with 20+ years of experience.  In her current role as Senior Legal Counsel & Director of Contracts Management with The Bank of Nova Scotia, Catherine provides valued solutions and legal advice on a broad range of complex payments, technology, outsourcing, contracting and corporate law matters to the Bank and its affiliates.  Catherine leads her team in championing a customer-focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader bank relationships, systems and knowledge.  Catherine’s professional experience also includes roles with Torys LLP, The Toronto-Dominion Bank and Sony Canada/Sony Mobile.  Catherine obtained both her Law degree and Bachelor of Arts degree from Western University.

Catherine relocated from Toronto to Halifax in 2018 and is involved in a number of volunteer activities, including with the Sacred Heart School of Halifax and the Waegwoltic Club. Catherine is also an active member of 100+ Women Who Care Halifax. 

Catherine lives in Halifax with her husband and two boys.
