Suzanne Fougere named 2025 Sport Tourism Industry Champion nominee

Sport Tourism Canada has announced finalists for the 2025 Sport Tourism PRESTIGE Awards and Events East Executive Vice-President Suzanne Fougere is a finalist for the Sport Tourism Industry Champion Award. This nomination recognizes Suzanne's experience and efforts to significantly enhance and strengthen the sport tourism sector in Canada for over a decade. This is the first time Sport Tourism Canada has awarded this category.

We are proud to celebrate Suzanne's accomplishments in major sports event attraction and sport tourism, including hosting the upcoming 2025 Canadian Curling Trials, the 2026-2028 USPORT National Championships, the 2025 Rivalry Series, Skate Canada International 2024, the 2023 IIHF World Junior Championships, NHL preseason games, and many more. Bringing major sports events to Halifax drives significant economic growth to the region, attracting high volumes of out-of-town visitors and direct spending, and reinforces Nova Scotia's reputation as an exceptional sports event destination.
