Scotiabank Centre Launches Fall Events Season with New Vaccination Requirement

As the fall events season kicks off, Scotiabank Centre will require proof of full vaccination for all event attendees effective October 1.

Alternatively, attendees who do not have proof of vaccination can provide proof of a negative COVID-19 test within 72 hours prior to the event (or as dictated by individual event requirements) to gain entry.

Events prior to October 1, including the Halifax Mooseheads September 11 pre-season game, will follow existing venue protocols including physical distancing, reduced capacity and other public health measures. With the start of Phase 5 of Nova Scotia’s re-opening plan, the venue will begin to operate at full capacity for a diverse calendar of events, including:

  • Halifax pre-season game – September 24
  • Super Nova Celebration – October 1
  • Halifax Mooseheads home opener - October 2
  • Judas Priest – November 2
  • Halifax Thunderbirds home opener – December 4
  • University Cup – March 17-20, 2022

Additional event announcements for the 2021-22 events season will continue over the coming months.

In addition to required proof of vaccination, all employees and preferred suppliers will continue to wear masks when working in the venue. Attendee masking policy will align with provincial guidelines.

Quotes:
"As we return to hosting live events, Scotiabank Centre plays an important role in keeping our city safe and vibrant. We can’t wait to welcome our community back to experience the magic of live events while doing everything we can to keep our guests and employees safe.”

- Carrie Cussons, president and CEO, Scotiabank Centre

“We’re looking forward to Scotiabank Centre again having the best atmosphere to watch hockey and being the most fun place to play hockey in the entire country. We want our fans to feel confident and comfortable at our games. After much internal discussion and input from our fans we realize that the best way to welcome back our fans is to implement a policy insisting that all fans will either test negative for Covid-19 upon entering the arena or be fully vaccinated.”

- Bobby Smith, majority owner, Halifax Mooseheads

Details on the process for submitting proof of vaccination will be shared with ticket holders in the lead up to the venue’s re-opening. Visit Scotiabank-Centre.com or @ScotiabankCtr for the latest information on venue policies.
